Congratulations on your purchase of the Wayzn Smart Pet Door, the device that turns your existing sliding glass door into an automated pet door. Now you can come and go on your schedule, not your pet's.

This Quick Start Guide explains important information about safety, training and security that you should read and understand before using your Smart Pet Door. A word about safety, before you begin

Your health and the well-being of your family and pets are of the utmost importance to Wayzn. The use of any type of door automation device, no matter how well-designed, brings with it inherent risks, including the risk of severe injury, or death. Please follow these warnings to reduce these risks to the greatest extent possible.

If your Smart Pet Door exhibits any unusual behavior stop using the device immediately and contact us.
Carefully follow all instructions in the Wayzn app during installation and calibration.
Never pass through the doorway, touch the door, or touch any part of the Wayzn unit except the button while Wayzn is opening or closing the door.
Never open the Wayzn unit or attempt to alter any of the internal hardware.
Never permit children to operate or play with the Wayzn unit or its software controls.
Never use Wayzn in the presence of small children or any pets who show signs of anxiety or any type of negative reaction.
Always teach the occupants in your home how to swing the Wayzn device up and out of the way to allow for rapid exit in the event of an emergency.
Always have a backup plan to let your dog in and out when you’re away in the event of a power failure or device failure.
Never operate your door using Wayzn unless you are able to determine it is safe to do so. It is strongly recommended to use Wayzn with a security camera so you can see the area before operating the door.

What about training?

We're glad you asked because training is important! Please allow several days for your pet(s) to become acclimated and comfortable using the Smart Pet Door. You can increase the likelihood of success by following these simple steps.

Let's not forget about security

Your home's security is as important to us as it is to you. Please follow these warnings to reduce the risk of security threats:

Always carefully protect your devices like your phone, smart speakers and Pet Tags that are synced with the Wayzn Smart Pet Door to prevent unauthorized use.
Never share Wayzn QR codes or other passcodes or security information over the internet.
Limit use of Wayzn automation to situations where the yard is secure and you can monitor the area in person or with a camera.

Wayzn also gives you optional features that may further reduce the risk of unwanted entry, such as limiting the opening width and setting a schedule to limit the days and times your door can be opened automatically.
