Yes, the receiver can detect the tag through the wall so your pet can let itself in using the tag.

The Pet Tag receiver scans for tags nearly continuously, but must take short breaks to check in with your Wayzn Smart Pet Door, which it does approximately every thirty seconds. This administrative handshake process takes a few seconds and is necessary to check for new firmware or changes you make to your tag's settings in the Wayzn app. If this process is running when the tag approaches the receiver you may notice a slight delay before the door opens. Don't worry, it will open before long and your pet will quickly learn that sometimes a short wait is needed.

In order to make the tag enclosure waterproof, it requires a rubber gasket and a fair amount of pressure between the two halves of the enclosure.

No, it is important to use the plug and cable supplied with Wayzn Pet Tag to ensure correct operation.

Unfortunately, we don't have any plans at this time to make a smaller tag. As an alternative to the tag, many Wayzn Smart Pet Door users with secure yards pair the device with an Alexa-compatible camera and use an Alexa routine to activate Wayzn when motion is detected outside.
